Explore Chinese characters & Stamp carving

Potato Stamp Carving
In Chinese culture, people carve their names onto seals and use them as a signature. Through this hands-on activity, we will experience this meaningful tradition and learn about its cultural and historical background.

Chinese Character Fun
Many Chinese characters created by ancient people were inspired by real-life objects, making them both vivid and imaginative.
We will explore the fascinating way these characters were formed, especially those related to food, and see how everyday ingredients became meaningful symbols.

From the director
I, Ms. Chen started this camp in year 2013 thinking about the need of my own children. As an educator and parent, I would like to send my kids to the camps with loving instructors, creative curricula, and safe learning environment. As an immigrant from Taiwan, I also would like to pass down the Chinese heritage through teaching Chinese to the next generation from the world.
I believe that the summer break is an opportunity outside of the regular school time to inspire kids to explore variety of things. The purpose is not to master certain skills within short time; but to expose the students to new ideas or opportunities, hopefully as a base for the further learning in the future.
Cooking with Christina Yu
Our cooking instructor, Christina Yu, is a caring and experienced educator who has worked with children for many years. She believes that cooking is a valuable life skill that helps children develop creativity, confidence, and independence.
Christina began teaching her own daughter to cook when she was just six years old. “Teaching children to cook with their hands not only supports brain development but also equips them with skills they can use for a lifetime,” she says.
Christina recalls how her daughter became fascinated with cooking in middle school. After reading through a cookbook, she eagerly asked her mother to buy ingredients so she could experiment with recipes at home. Today, as an adult, she still enjoys recreating dishes she discovers and loves in restaurants.
This summer, your child will enjoy a fun, healthy, and inspiring cooking experience while learning practical kitchen skills, exploring new foods, and building confidence through hands-on activities. Join us for a summer full of creativity, learning, and delicious memories!
